Eco-agrotourisme en Bosnie

Hier, je me suis rendue (1h1/2 de bus ) à Fojnica, qui est la commune cible de la majorité des actions locales de Caritas International Belgique.

      Cette commune se trouve dans le sud du Canton de Bosnie Centrale, au coeur du massif Vranica. Le village en lui-même n'est "qu'à" 600m d'altitude, mais un des sites les plus connus et les plus pittoresques, le lac Prokosko, se situe à 1635m d'altitude (vivement que la neige y ait fondu!!) .

      Le monastère Franciscain de Fojnica est très connu, notamment parce que son musée conserve d'anciens objets et manuscrits précieux, dont le fameux Ahdnamu.

     Fojnica est également très connue dans la région des Balkans pour ses eaux thermales: le spa-hôtel-restaurant Reumal accueille environ 170.000 nuitées par an!

 

      La guerre a atteint la commune de Fojnica en juillet 1993.

      Aujourd'hui, ses habitants, lorsqu'ils ont survécus, sont revenus, et qu'ils restent (l'exode rural est très actif en Bosnie-Herzégovine), essaient de survivre à une situation post-guerre très difficile; la commune est progressivement reconstruite. C'est pourquoi Caritas I. Belgique a choisi de concentrer ses actions sur ce territoire vulnérable : http://cibefojnica.wordpress.com. Trois axes principaux ont été retenus: agriculture durable, environnement, éco-agrotourisme, avec diverses formes de soutien aux locaux porteurs de projets. Autrement dit, Caritas a fait le choix de concentrer les moyens sur une commune "pilote", plutôt que de disséminer son soutien.

 

Le mercredi c'est jour de marché à Fojnica. J'ai donc pu aller y faire quelques amplettes! En fait, j'aurais du écrire "jour de marchéS", puisqu'il y en a 2 : le marché aux fruits et légumes, d'un côté du village, et, de l'autre, le marché aux "plastiques" c'est à dire un véritable bazard - vide-grenier où l'on peut aussi bien acheter de vieux boulons qu'un canapé neuf, des chaussons de seconde-main, des tapis, des chaussettes ultra-fashion et bien sûr j'en passe! Tout cela en extérieur, avec un temps mi-neige, mi-soleil, mi-nuages, mi-pluie et le sol en cours de dégel...

 

D'un autre côté, quelque chose d'autre est plutôt  marquant : même en cette saison, l'environnement naturel est superbe !

Yesterday, I went by bus to Fojnica (1h1/2), which is the main target municipality of Caritas International Belgique's local actions.

      This commune is located in the south of the Central Bosnia Canton, at the heart of the Vranica massif. The village in itself is "only" at 600m height above the sea level, but one of the most known and picturesque sites, the Prokosko lake, is at 1635m above the level sea (I can't wait the snow to have melted!!.

       The Franciscan monastery in Fojnica is very well known, nevertheless because of his museum which conserves very old precious objects and books, especially the famous Ahdnamu.

       Fojnica is also very famous in the Balkan region for its thermal water: the spa-hotel-restaurant Reumal welcomes about 170.000 overnights a year!

 

      The war hit Fojnica commune in July 1993.

      Nowadays, its inhabitants, when they survived, came back, and stay (rural depopulation is very active in Bosnia-Herzegovina), try to live through a very difficult post-war situation; the commune is progressively reconstructed.That's the reasons why Caritas I. Belgique has chosen to concentrateits actions on this vulnerable territory: http://cibefojnica.wordpress.com. Three main axis have been arrested: sustainable agriculture, environment, eco-agrotourism, with various forms of support to local projects initiatives. In other words, Caritas has chosen to concentrate the measures on a "pilot" commune, rather thanto disseminate its support.

 

Wednesday is market day in Fojnica. So I could go buy some things! Actully, I should have written "marketS day", since there are 2 of them: the fruits and veggies market, on one side of the village, and, on the other side, the "plastic" market, in other words a sort of bazaar - flea market where one can buy old bolts as well as a new coach, second-hand shoes, carpets, super-trendy socks and lots of other things! All that in an open-air area, with a half-snowy, half-sunny, half-cloudy, half-rainy weather and the soil unfreezing...
