Mostar

Mostar is one of the most famous BiH cities, especially for its old bridge, upon the magnifique Neretva river.

We were just nearby Mostar, so Sarah brought me to visit quickly the old center...

Like many Bosnian cities and villages, Mostar is in some part divided with a side being mainly Croat, and the other one which is mainly Bosniac.

The beautiful Nereteva river flows in between and has an incredible green-emerald colour! The bridge, a strong symbol, had been destroyed during the war.

So, in fact, he bridge is not old anymore: it has been reconstructed, and so is the "old center".

--> But it has been really well done as you can see on the pictures, and it's very nice! I really recommand you to visit Mostar!

I will myself try to return there in order to enjoy this so beautiful place longer, et to take more pictures!! :-)

Sajo,
Dobra vece i hvala za komentar!

Izvinite, ja govorim samo malo Bosanski.
So, I must write in English.

I understand very much what you said, and I am sorry... I didn't mean to insult or criticize or hurt nor to be mean to anybody... Mostar is such a beautiful place, and I liked so much the short time that I spent there!!
I have modified my text, and I wish that it is better now.

I let this fact written once, and I hope that you will understand why. On this blog, I try to sincerely tell my experience in Bosnia & Herzegovina.
I discovered this country only a few months ago, but I already really love BiH!! I like its nature, I like its culture, its architecture, its home-grown/made products, I like very much the people I've met here, etc.
But there are some things that hurt me in a way, for instance when I see garbages in its wonderful natural surroundings!! And I have to confess that the still present inter-communities problems are something that make me sad... And as a young stranger, it is a very strange experience when you see so obvious separation in such a nice place. That's why I am mentionning it... And I have not even told about what is the most difficult experience ever: these marks of the war everywhere outside of the restored center...
I know that it is not the important thing to say about Mostar, but it is also true that it is something that will stay engraved in my mind when I will be thinking about my visit in Mostar, besides its magnifique bridge, the magical color of the Neretva river and the so nicely restored central area.
For sure, nobody should forget these wonderful assets: Mostar is one of the most beautiful place that I have visited!

Sincerely yours,
Laetitia
